Cleaning house!!!

A MAJOR project that I worked on this weekend, was the kids rooms! Alex helped by having someone get the spare bed out of V's room. Once it was out....the work began! I organized clothes, cleaned out her cubby, threw out trashed, and got things ready for the new baby!

Alex got some hardware to hang up the canopy above V's bed. Princess2 has a purple canopy that my Mom bought her.

Here are some of her toys, I'm not sure why I have a chair in with them....I really do need to take that out.

A shelf above her bed. Amazingly, she doesn't mess with it :)

Nehemiah's room!

His room was clean, and his bed was made, but as you can see...he was in his room when I took the pic...and had been for awhile, so neither was the way it should be, oh well. :)
I moved the location of his slide, it's no longer out in the open, it's by his window. There is enough room for a little body to get onto the slide. Neither kid has complained about the location.
His bookshelf, kind of organized.

One of the projects Alex worked on last Friday. He tilled around my lilac bush! Tore down that horrible fencing that was around it, and put this box around it, and got mulch for it, and put three stepping stones. He said the stones represent our three kids.

Easter 2011

So, how was your Easter? Mine was....well, typical of being a Mom.

I got the kids dressed for Easter, cute hats, new outfits (new to them....Nehemiah's came from Once Upon a Child, and Mom bought V's at a Mom to Mom sale)

We get to church with no incidents, kids are happy, we find a seat and sit down. Singing along to song service, I tell myself, "You should take V downstairs to go to the bathroom" (she's been working on potty training, her idea) Right as I think this....I feel warmth. Wet warmth.
Siss and I go downstairs and I get her changed. I knew I was done with church for the day, I couldn't wash this off and be comfortable.
We head home. Changed, get the kids to bed, and I take a nap. Get up, get food around for the cook out we're going to have at Nicole's house.
We get there and Mom wanted to know if I had my camera, I did, of course. After she asked if I'd take a picture of all 5 Grandkids, I lined them up only to see, I didn't have a memory card!

I put two pics on the internal memory, but didn't have enough room to take pics of the kids looking for candy.
Stephanie came up with a lesson before sending the kids to find the candy. They were told that God sent His son Jesus, to find His treasures, just like we put treasure for the kids to find. The kids loved finding the toys, bubbles, and candy!

Love

I love being a Mom. Kid are so entertaining. This morning I told the kids that my brother, Jordan, was here, and Virginia looked at me and said, "no no no no no!!" I guess because she couldn't see him, he wasn't there (I'd heard his truck...that's how I knew he was here)
Virginia has started saying, "I love you" And Nehemiah has switched from "I love you" to "I love you very much!!!"
I had turned on the song "Cinderella" by Steven Curtis Chapman, and Virginia went up to Alex and wanted to dance!! <3

Spring cleaning?

Ahhhhhhhhhhh a clean house!!! Almost...

Alex and I have been super busy getting this house de-cluttered and clean! Alex got A LOT of yard work done! He rototilled around my lilac bush, and put a wooden square around it, and mulched it!! Now you can see the bush, and not the fence (which he tore down!!) behind it, and all the clutter and trash it collected! Yay!! :)
He also got stuff down from the garage that was left from the previous owners!
We both worked on our walk in closet to get it clean, got rid of the spare bed we had in V's room, and got her room all clean and ready for BabyGirl! Just need to get the crib put up....and the house is ready for her! :) (There are a few things we need to get, but they can wait til she's here)
I cleaned out tons of the kids toys and got them ready for a garage sale.
We are taking a load of junk to the dump tomorrow, and clothes and such are going to GoodWill!!
It feels SO NICE to have the house clean, and it's funny to see Alex so excited about it!

Now...I'm ready for chocolate. Maybe Rocky Road ice cream??

Daniels Grandkids

Ummmm....I noticed a pattern here....Our little girl will be the next Grandchild, then Nicole and Mike's. I have a kid every other time! This is a trend I do not plan to keep!

The other day I was feeling kinda sad b/c my husband talked to one of my old bosses, and the man asked my husband if I still dressed "plain" when my hubby asked what he meant, he said "You know, long hair, long skirts" And I thought to myself, "Was that all I was?? hair and skirts??" Then today a little girl asked me if I was a Princess. I smiled and laughed (what was I supposed to do? She caught me off guard) She asked her Mom, "Is that girl a Princess?" And her mom told her "Yes, she is a Princess" She then explained to me that her daughter thinks anyone wearing a skirt is a Princess. And I realized, yes, I am a Princess, God is my King, and I am HIS Princess!!

Jason

"I thought of you today, but that is nothing new
I thought of you yesterday and days before that too.

I think of you in silence, I often speak your name,
All I have are memories and your picture in a frame.

Your memory is my keepsake, with which I'll never part
God has you in his keeping, I have you in my heart."

Love is stronger than death even though it can't stop death from happening,

but no matter how hard death tries it can't separate people from love.

It can't take away our memories either.

In the end, life is stronger than death.”

When you were born,

you were crying and everyone else was smiling.
Live your life so that when you die,

you are smiling, and everyone else is crying.

Jason is still missed, of course.

Once in awhile Nehemiah will mention him. I don't try to stop him from knowing about Jason, or stop him from talking about him.

He's told me before that Jason was outside out window and wanted him to play, then Nehemiah tried to go out the front door. Oh, did I mention it was snowing, and there was ice on the ground?!

Yesterday I got up with Nehemiah pretty early, so we laid on the couch and I held him. All the sudden he says, "Who is that little guy?

Me: What little guy?

N: Oh, It's Jason

Me: Jason is here? Where? On that chair? *pointing at the chair by the door which has a side table by it*

N: No, he's on the table *motioning toward side table*

Me: He's on the table?

N: Yes. Oh, Jason never went golfing. But, he has to go eat supper now.

Nehemiah later told Alex that Jason never went golfing and he looked so sad when he said it.

Was Jason there? I don't know. I do believe that Jason does visit us, and he might even be Nehemiah's guardian angel. He loved his nieces and nephews a lot.

But what is even more exciting than Nehemiah seeing Jason, is that I know someday I will see Jason. We'll never part, and we WILL be eating supper at the Marriage table.

Video

A Video my Dad made in memory of Jason. Just a warning:You'll need tissues, it's a tear jerker. It's still a shock to me that he's really truly gone
